Here’s the recipe as promised…
I made these with Sweet Success Cucumbers, fully grown. This is considered to be a slicer cucumber not usually recommended for pickles, but they worked beautifully for this recipe!
I found it on another blog, an old family favourite of theirs, dating back to what they think may be the 1800′s..how cool is that and they are still making them!

This is so simple..
Cucumbers, Onions & Green Pepper chopped up mixed salt and a few handfuls of ice, cover & let it sit for 3 hrs
Drain and mix together with Pickling Syrup
5 cups sugar
1½ tsp. turmeric
½ tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed
5 cups apple cider vinegar
Heat through but don’t boil..
Done , fill jars and can , I use a hot water bath to seal the jars
